This year, I decided to participate in Camp NaNoWriMo for the month of April. Mostly because I wanted to get myself out of this writing funk that I seem to be stuck in. I also have so many ideas and it just gets all clogged together inside my brain. I think I started 3 new notebooks with ideas in the last month alone.
I picked one of the ideas which had originally started as a short story. Then I kind of just ran with it and it became this larger entity. I had also recently deep diving into the world building of the story and figuring out the magic system for it. So overall, this seemed to be the best fit for me to choose.
One of the best things about Camp NaNoWriMo is that you can set your own limit. There is much less pressure to get 50,000 words like there is in November. It could be the usual words or you could do lines or pages.
So my goal for April is 12,500 words which would equal out around 50 pages. I wanted to set a goal for myself that would not overwhelm me but still be a challenge. Plus I could still work on other projects at the same time.
So we will just see how this goes, but I am hoping for the best. Plus if this goes well then I definitely want to do the next camp in July.
